The Annapolis Junior Rowing Association (AJR) Summer 2023 Training sessions are open to all male and female athletes in the 8th through 12th grade with prior rowing experience. AJR’s focus is sweep rowing, primarily in 4+s and 8+s, but may also offer sculling instruction during these sessions. Practices will consist of workouts on the water, erg training and land workouts (conditioning). Athletes will build strength and endurance while learning technique, teamwork and personal responsibility.
When and Where: AJR will host two two-week Summer Training Sessions: (i) July 3 – July 14, 2023; and (ii) July 24 – August 4, 2023. Practices will be Monday – Friday mornings at Camp Woodlands (2744 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD).

NEW Competitive Summer Program
In addition to its regular Summer 2023 Training sessions, AJR will host a new Competitive Summer Program for a limited number of athletes. Participants will be selected by the AJR coaching staff based on a number of criteria. All participants will compete in the 2023 USRowing Summer National Championships (July 13-16, 2023 in Bethel, OH) and may also compete in the Canadian Henley.
When and Where: June 19 – August 4 (or 13), 2023. Practices will be Monday – Friday mornings from 5:45am to 8:00am at Camp Woodlands (2744 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD).
