AJR Alum WINS Prestigious Race at the Henley

The USA crew (made up of Navy Rowers, including our AJR alum, Ashlyn Dawson) won The King’s Cup! The King’s Cup returned to Henley Royal Regatta after 100 years. Mixed military crews from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, UK & USA competed in the event to commemorate the 1919 Royal Henley Peace Regatta. It’s quite a historic honor and we couldn’t be prouder of Ashlyn and her peers.

Ashlyn has an impressive rowing resume. She got her start at Annapolis Junior Rowing where she competed in a four at Youth Nationals in 2015. She was a member of the U.S. National Team U-19 crew that placed third at the 2015 Junior World Championships in the pair event (2x). She went on to row on the varsity team at the Kent School. In her first year at Navy she rowed with the first varsity eight crew in all seven races, including the Patriot League and NCAA Championships. The Mids’ V8 boat finished as runner-up at Patriot League Championship.
