TENTATIVE FALL INFORMATION (TO BE UPDATED IN JUNE)
What: Annapolis Junior Rowing Association (AJR) Fall Season is open to all male and female athletes in 8th through 12th grade. AJR’s focus is sweep rowing, primarily in 8+s, although we also train and race in 4+s. We also have sculling boats for training purposes. Fall practices will consist of workouts on the water and some erg training. Athletes will build strength and endurance while learning technique and teamwork.
When: Our fall season goes from TBD. Regular practice times are Monday through Friday afternoons 4:30-7:00pm. Regattas are held on some weekends. TBD 6:30pm-8:30pm – Fall Orientation Meeting for all Rowers + Parents, location TBD, 2747 Riva Road Annapolis, Maryland
Location: Practices are held at Camp Woodlands, our exclusive rowing venue, located at 2744 Riva Road, Annapolis MD.
Cost: $1000 by check to Annapolis Junior Rowing mailed to PO Box 6804, Annapolis, MD 21401 or brought to Orientation Meeting OR $1030 via Paypal to annapolisjuniorrowing1@gmail.com (includes processing fees).
New this year, cost is lower but does not include Regatta expenses. It does include use of equipment and Woodlands Girl Scout Camp and coaching. Coaches decide who participates in Regattas. By marking their availability in TeamSnap for Regattas, rowers agree to pay their share of Regatta Fees & Expenses that will be assessed after each race. We will do our best to give you an estimate of costs before each Regatta. Season dues are non-refundable. There is a two-week trial period for new rowers. They don’t have to commit for the entire season but are responsible to pay for those two weeks ($250).
